This is an inspirational story about the true passion for restoring, converting and customizing vehicles of all kinds by Pali aka Tejpal Singh (age 75) since his college days.
He always had a dream of making his own caravan with the intent of traveling. It is a dream that Pali and wife Sunita realized, which would make their travel plans fruitful with the pace that they find comfortable in accordance to their age.
This reality came into existence during the Covid lockdown, when the actual caravan of his dreams was made – designed inch by inch by Pali keeping in mind his handicap.
Sunita Arora (age 69) – a social worker and having a social communication media background, dreamt with her husband Tejapl Singh to spend their entire retirement by traveling all over rural India and connecting to the people.
Over the past few years, they connected with a lot of senior citizens like them. In their journey, they like to exchange and elucidate upon books, culture, religion and more.
Before they got their home on wheels, they were already traveling across borders by road like to China for a month in a car or to Thailand for 3 weeks in a minibus. During these journeys, they realized that many seniors are getting intimidated by the thought of traveling by road due to insecurities or health issues while being outside the comfort of their homes.
Hence, owning this beautiful home-on-wheels allowed Pali & Sunita to realize their dreams of traveling on their terms and at their own pace without compromising on leisure.
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?-
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
